Ink

The field is black. Two inks only: a flat red and white, no gradients, no half-tones.

The rind is drawn in black and white rather than green. Green is the one colour a two-ink print cannot carry, so the process translates it into a white edge and a black line, which is what the original woodblock printers would have done too.

The seal 真夏の味 is red on black. The vertical kana is set in a gothic face and bled slightly, the way a stamped impression smears.
